Deeper Meditation Part 3
Written by Jerry on March 13, 2010 – 5:11 am -"Meditation is the way to bring us back to ourselves, where we can really experience and taste our full being, beyond all habitual patterns. In the stillness and silence of meditation, we glimpse and return to that deep inner nature that we have so long ago lost sight of amid the business and distraction of our minds. The gift of learning to meditate is the greatest gift you can give yourself in this life. For it is only through meditation that you can undertake the journey to discover your true nature, and so find the stability and confidence you will need to live, and die, well. Meditation is the road to enlightenment."- Sogyal Rinpoche, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying

Learning to Accept Yourself
Written by Jerry on February 12, 2010 – 6:17 am -
You may be surprised at how many people lack the ability to accept themselves for who they are. Many people are able to put on a front so they appear self-confident when they really aren’t.
Even if you’re one of these people, you can learn how to accept yourself. If you’re suffering from low self worth and confidence, you really do have the ability to turn things around!
Why It’s Important To Accept Yourself
It’s important to accept yourself because that alone can mean the difference between a life of happiness and a life of sadness. When you accept yourself, you’re more likely to accomplish more in your life.
Self-acceptance can be seen as a foundation for using the Law of Attraction. After you accept yourself, you can begin to believe that good things are possible for you.
Steps To Acceptance
There are so many methods to learn self-acceptance, and you’ll soon find your own unique way of getting there.
In the meantime, try a few of these:
1. Mistakes are natural. Sometimes you may try too hard to be perfect. Allow yourself to make mistakes because you’re human. You’ll make small mistakes and big mistakes in life, but its how you bounce back from them that’ll make all the difference.
2. Live in the present. The reason you haven’t accepted yourself could be that you’re living your life in the past. Maybe you’re unable to forgive yourself for something you have done or a certain trait that you have. Getting over the past is an important step to build confidence and hope for a brighter future.
3. Avoid comparison. Others have different skills, physical traits and life experiences, which may make you envious. Come to terms with the fact that you don’t have what they have. However, on the bright side, there are many things that you do have that they don’t.
• Each and every person is unique. Be grateful for what makes you different from others, as this is part of your own inner beauty!
4. Be comfortable in your own skin. Sometimes you don’t want to accept yourself because of the way you look. Society puts some serious pressure on people to look and dress certain ways. Remember that people in magazines are can be unhealthy and are usually airbrushed and you shouldn’t strive to look like them. Instead, focus on your positive attributes and overall health. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look as good as YOU can – not as good as someone else does.
5. Think positive thoughts. One of the most important things on the journey to accepting yourself is learning to think positively. It’s easy to forget how much power there is in thought. Use many positive affirmations many times a day until your thoughts are predominately positive.
Take these strategies to heart because, once you learn to accept yourself, you’ll find the Law of Attraction working almost on autopilot!

Written by Jerry on November 27, 2009 – 5:50 am -Kids and Goal Setting, Why is it So Important?
By Winsome Coutts
This can be great fun, and can make a huge difference in their lives. Goal setting for kids books, worksheets and activities will all help you to introduce this idea to your children. It doesn’t matter if you are a parent, teacher, grandparent or friend, if you can encourage the children in your life to start setting goals at an early age, you can have a profound affect on their lives.
But why would you bother with this goal setting activity with kids?
You’re busy enough aren’t you?
In today’s information age, people are bombarded with so many choices, decisions and options. It’s very easy to get sidetracked or to just "go with the flow."? Learning how to set goals at an early age will give your child the tools needed to live a purposeful life. They will be able to make decisions that get them where they want to go instead of just reacting to whatever is in front of them at that moment.
Most highly successful people are avid goal-setters. Pick up any best-selling book from personal growth gurus and there will be a section dedicated to goal setting. These coaches don’t consider goal setting an option; to them it’s mandatory if you want to live an amazing life.
When you take the time to sit down and totally focus on your child, you KNOW how much they love that. This is about more than just Goal Setting, it is about saying how much you love them, and that you care enough about them and their future, that you are prepared to spend time working on it with them. You KNOW what an impact that will have with them. They will love Goal Setting, and feel so proud when they have written their first goal.
Setting goals can lead to profound feelings of happiness, purpose, confidence and self-worth. Imagine your child being confident because they know that they have the ability to achieve whatever they want to achieve. Imagine how exciting the world would be to them!
