Learning to Accept Yourself

Written by Jerry on February 12, 2010 – 6:17 am -

You may be surprised at how many people lack the ability to accept themselves for who they are. Many people are able to put on a front so they appear self-confident when they really aren’t.

Even if you’re one of these people, you can learn how to accept yourself. If you’re suffering from low self worth and confidence, you really do have the ability to turn things around!

Why It’s Important To Accept Yourself

It’s important to accept yourself because that alone can mean the difference between a life of happiness and a life of sadness. When you accept yourself, you’re more likely to accomplish more in your life.

Self-acceptance can be seen as a foundation for using the Law of Attraction. After you accept yourself, you can begin to believe that good things are possible for you.

Steps To Acceptance

There are so many methods to learn self-acceptance, and you’ll soon find your own unique way of getting there.

In the meantime, try a few of these:

1. Mistakes are natural. Sometimes you may try too hard to be perfect. Allow yourself to make mistakes because you’re  human. You’ll make small mistakes and big mistakes in life, but its how you bounce back from them that’ll make all the difference.

2. Live in the present. The reason you haven’t accepted yourself could be that you’re living your life in the past. Maybe you’re unable to forgive yourself for something you have done or a certain trait that you have. Getting over the past is an important step to build confidence and hope for a brighter future.

3. Avoid comparison. Others have different skills, physical traits and life experiences, which may make you envious. Come to terms with the fact that you don’t have what they have. However, on the bright side, there are many things that you do have that they don’t.

  • Each and every person is unique. Be grateful for what makes you different from     others, as this is part of your own inner beauty!

4. Be comfortable in your own skin. Sometimes you don’t want to accept yourself because of the way you look. Society puts some serious pressure on people to look and dress certain ways. Remember that people in magazines are can be unhealthy and are usually airbrushed and you shouldn’t strive to look like them. Instead, focus on your positive attributes and overall health. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look as good as YOU can – not as good as someone else does.

5. Think positive thoughts. One of the most important things on the journey to accepting yourself is learning to think positively. It’s easy to forget how much power there is in thought. Use many positive affirmations many times a day until your thoughts are predominately positive.

Take these strategies to heart because, once you learn to accept yourself, you’ll find the Law of Attraction working almost on autopilot!

Live Consciously

Written by Jerry on January 30, 2010 – 1:08 am -

Have you ever seen ants searching for food? They just follow one another in an almost endless game that seems to drone on and on. Are you living ants life – going from day to day, doing the same thing, the same way, and nothing ever changes?

If so, you’re not living consciously.

Conscious living is being aware of your life and the things you’re doing, moment by moment. It’s about taking the time to stop and smell the roses so you can see where you fit into the big picture. Besides adding more beauty and peace in your life, living consciously helps you live with a passion and purpose that few ever realize.

Small Steps to Living More Consciously

Transforming your humdrum life into one filled with passion is easier than you may think! There are dozens of little things, you can do almost effortlessly and that take just a minute or two, to live more consciously starting today!

Here are a few:

1. Stop. Take some time to stop throughout the day and look around. Be aware of where you are and what’s around you. Become conscious of your surroundings and notice how you fit into them.

2. Notice. Really see the details such as the green leaves on the trees, or the condensation dripping down the side of the cup.

3. Feel. Get in tune with what your body feels and actually search out the sensations of your fingers touching a glass or your toes touching inside your socks. Feel your chest rise and fall with each breath.

4. Be in the Now. Take deep breaths and be in the moment. Don’t think about what you’ve done or what you still have to do, just take a minute or two to just breathe!

5. Learn. Take a few minutes each day to try something new. Pick up a book you’ve always wanted to read or learn a new skill. You will find yourself being more conscious when trying something new than when doing something you already know very well.

There are so many things you can do to create a better life. Living consciously is one of the easiest changes to make because it takes so little time, can be done spontaneously and has great rewards. Take a few of these ideas, add a few of your own, integrate them into your routine, and begin enjoying the benefits of living consciously today!

THE LAW OF ATTRACTION IN THE THOUGHT WORLD

Written by Jerry on August 21, 2009 – 1:11 am -

by William Walker Atkinson

THE Universe is governed by Law – one great Law. Its manifestations are multiform, but viewed from the Ultimate there is but one Law. We are familiar with some of its manifestations, but are almost totally ignorant of certain others. Still we are learning a little more every day – the veil is being gradually lifted.

We speak learnedly of the Law of Gravitation, but ignore that equally wonderful manifestation, THE LAW OF ATTRACTION IN THE THOUGHT WORLD. We are familiar with that wonderful manifestation of Law which draws and holds together the atoms of which matter is composed – we recognize the power of the law that attracts bodies to the earth, that holds the circling worlds in their places, but we close our eyes to the mighty law that draws to us the things we desire or fear, that makes or mars our lives.

When we come to see that Thought is a force – a manifestation of energy – having a magnet-like power of attraction, we will begin to understand the why and wherefore of many things that have heretofore seemed dark to us. There is no study that will so well repay the student for his time and trouble as the study of the workings of this mighty law of the world of Thought – the Law of Attraction.

When we think we send out vibrations of a fine ethereal substance, which are as real as the vibrations manifesting light, heat, electricity, magnetism. That these vibrations are not evident to our five senses is no proof that they do not exist. A powerful magnet will send out vibrations and exert a force sufficient to attract to itself a piece of steel weighing a hundred pounds, but we can neither see, taste, smell, hear nor feel the mighty force. These thought vibrations, likewise, cannot be seen, tasted, smelled, heard nor felt in the ordinary way; although it is true there are on record cases of persons peculiarly sensitive to psychic impressions who have perceived powerful thought-waves, and very many of us can testify that we have distinctly felt the thought vibrations of others, both whilst in the presence of the sender and at a distance. Telepathy and its kindred phenomena are not idle dreams. Read more »
